Megan Malasarte
Track & Field

Hi, my name is Megan Malasarte. I was born in Atlanta, GA. My sport is Track and Field, and I have been competing in it since I was 13 year old.

My favorite workout is a ladder cutdown on the track. I am inspired by my mom, and remembering my long-term goals keeps me motivated.

My favorite food is spaghetti and meatballs. I relax by listening to my music, and love listening to Hip-Hop.

My pre-competition ritual is listening to my pre-race playlist on my Beats headphones leading into warm up time.

What's the secret to my success? Maintaining a balance between my running and life outside of running.

Megan Malasarte was born in Atlanta, GA, and has lived there the past 22 years. She attended high school at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School in Georgia where she was a 6-time State Champion in the 400m and 800m.

Malasarte continued her running career as a Bulldog at the University of Georgia located in Athens, GA. For the past four years, Malasarte has played a role on her team by scoring at every SEC Championship meet both indoors and outdoors since her freshman year. She also holds the school record for the 800m. indoor and outdoor.

In 2012, she achieved her first All-American honors by competing at the 2012 NCAA Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, and placing 7th in the finals. Since then, Malasarte has received All-American honors in 2013 and 2014. She has qualified for the USA Outdoor Championships in both 2013 and 2014 where she was a semifinalist. This past August, she competed for her first USA Team in NACAC (North America Central America and Caribbean Championships) Under 23 in Kamloops, Canada.

She is majoring in Digital and Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Communication Studies at the University of Georgia and will graduate in December, 2014. Malasarte recently signed with the Brooks Beasts and is excited to move to Seattle in January 2015.
